It’s hard to imagine being a business without a mission to make the world a better place. After all, businesses are the foundation of our communities—they provide the services, the inspiration, and the economic opportunities necessary for society to thrive. But at Zatik Natural, our commitment to being a conscious business doesn’t stop there. We know there’s much more we can do–giving back is a natural extension of our business model.
That’s why we’re so thrilled to announce our support of the Fruits of Love Mission—a nonprofit organization working to empower struggling communities by providing support, education, and financial resources.
“We know that it is important to buy local to create jobs and help the local farmers grow more organic,” says Ovsanna Mkrtumyan, Zatik’s co-founder and director of sales and marketing. “However, we want to make sure that besides creating strong partnerships with our local entrepreneurs that we go further and start helping anyone we can.”
Fruits of Love, the vision of Naira Martirosyan, a doctor and a PhD student in Integrative Medicine and Natural Medicine at Quantum University, is just getting off the ground. The group’s goal is to take its services around the world, but the first mission is a mighty personal one for Martirosyan and Mkrtumyan. It’s to Armenia—homeland to both Martirosyan and Mkrtumyan (Ovsanna’s husband Garik is also Armenian).
“Today, more than 50% of the population in Armenia lives in poverty,” Fruits of Love explains on the group’s GoFundMe page.”This includes families living both in rural regions and cities. Unemployment rate is exceptionally high, which forces many families to either become homeless or live in dire conditions, with almost no heating at winters and enough food to barely survive.”
While Zatik’s main focus is creating and selling the highest quality skin and hair care products, there’s much more to the company.
“We strive to educate about mind, body, and soul and the connection to nature,” says Mkrtumyan. “We live our lives to set an example.”
Zatik is helping to fund the Fruits of Love Mission’s first trip to Armenia. Mkrtumyan is a board member for the organization that works to guide the group’s mission.
“Hopefully we can plant a love seed as we go along this mission,” says Mkrtumyan, “and we can help to teach people about the importance of giving back.”
